Label
Enter
unlimited text and numbers as key search words
used in document retrieval into our labels (most
companies use the same identification keywords
currently used in their paper filing system).
Freehand
Zone OCR capability to extract key information
from within a document and insert it into the
label
(eliminating the need for manual data entry
in labeling).
DIS
Imaging automatically embeds the label containing
the search words into the electronic PDF document,
eliminating the need to maintain a custom file
folder structure. If a document is moved from
its original directory (file folder), it is
easily recovered by re-indexing the directory.
DIS
Imaging surrounds the label with Metadata tags,
automatically making the electronic documents
Web-enabled. They can be shared on the Web without
having to code them with HTML code or XML code.
The
fundamental concept behind embedding the label
into the electronic document itself is to make
the electronic documents the database; everywhere
the document goes, the label travels with it.
This simplifies disaster recovery protection
by allowing you to copy all, or just a portion,
of the documents to a back-up system, such as
CD, DVD, or another hard drive. It also eliminates
the need for complex database maintenance and
the requirement of adding HTML code to documents
for Web-enablement.
The
advantage of DIS Imaging becomes clearly evident
in the event of a disaster. With our system,
the solution is to simply download the documents
back onto the server and recreate the index,
which is accomplished in a matter of minutes.
A similar scenario with a complex database would
require hours, or even days, to replicate and
rebuild the old database. Costly downtime and
IT department commitment are eliminated by DIS
Imaging.
